Prosperity That Fits facilitator Jason Robertson of Barney & Worth has helped our community assemble the initial draft of the plan for presentation on Wednesday, October 4. Benton County, the City of Corvallis, Oregon State University, Linn Benton Community College and the new Chamber Coalition (the recently merged Corvallis Chamber of Commerce and Economic Development Partnership) are on board to make this a success. Many others will need to champion certain strategies.
Too much is at stake-the health of our schools at all levels, the replacement of opportunities for solid family wage jobs in lieu of Hewlett Packard> '> s continued downsizing here, and the city and county tax rolls which make our parks, recreation, roads and utilities continue to keep up with the times. And the plan looks to do this, while retaining the character and quality of life that means so much to all Benton County residents.
The Prosperity That Fits planning phase is entering the home stretch. It will be presented to the County and City officials in mid-November.
We appreciate everyone's continued input and support and we'll see you at the Alumni Center on the evening of October 4.
