Economic Development through Getting SMART with Energy Efficiency

Resources

As a business owner, you are always in need of more cash. One way to save cash is to improve your energy efficiency and thereby spend less each month. Savings build up over time. The Corvallis Environmental Center can help you save money for your business.

Since 2001, the Corvallis Environmental Center has supported the highly valued Get SMART! Resource Efficiency Program (Saving Money and Resources Today) which provides free resource conservation assessments and recommendation reports to participants. From July of 2001 to June of 2005, REP staff worked with 42 businesses, agencies and organizations. Implementation of their cost-saving and resource-conserving recommendations has resulted in the ANNUAL diversion or prevention of over 13 tons of solid waste from landfill, and conservation of nearly 353,000 Kilowatt-hours and 350,000 gallons of water. The 16 additional program participants from the 2005-06 cycle are enjoying huge savings as well, and that data will be available August 1st. REP is seeking additional participants for the 2006-07 cycle, from the Benton County area.
